I'm Jeannine. I am a wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer in Pittsburgh, PA.
For me, it's all about the connections. In every job that I have had, I realized what I enjoyed the most were the people. Photography was no different. I want to connect with families and couples at momentous times in their lives. I want to serve others. I want to do something that people will cherish and appreciate, something that mattered. I mean, don't we all want that?
I started on this journey in high school when I took my first film photography course. I continued studying photography at Penn State and, for a short time, abroad in Rome. That experience solidified my love for photography, as well as travel. After college, I took a slight detour into corporate America and started slowly building a business of my own on the side. A few years in, I realized you have to cultivate the life you want, no one will hand it to you. I recently took the biggest leap of my life by quitting my desk job and deciding it was time to shape my own future. Not just for me, but for my husband, and our future family. Everyday, I am excited to work and it truly doesn't feel like a job. I love what I do and the people I get to connect with.
We recently found out we are expecting our first baby in July 2017 so it's an exciting time for our family! When I am not behind the lens, you can find me cuddling my lovable golden retriever, checking out the restaurant scene in Pittsburgh (I especially love tacos!), or enjoying some quality time at our home with my husband (and by that I mean Netflix binging). We also love traveling and wish we could do it more often. Our bucket list includes most of Europe. We dream of someday opening a B+B abroad, maybe retire in Italy. Until then, I am just enjoying the here and now.
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
– Ansel Adams
02. For Happiness
I always knew I loved photography. That much was easy. At some point, you have to live the life you imagined and get out of your own way. I chose to chase happiness even if I failed.
03. For The Memories
We don't want to forget the things that matter most to us. It's as simple as that. That is also why my iPhone is full of pictures of my dog. You would do it too, he is adorable!
