Monica + Jesse | Brooklyn NYC Engagement Session

Spent an amazing few days in NYC, part work and part family trip, to meet up with my September 2020 bride and groom- Monica and Jesse! They were living in NYC at the time (now they are in LA, making those career dreams come true!). I feel like I say this a lot because I really do have sweet couples but these two are just outstanding people, so sweet, and quickly became friends not just clients. They were our tour guides for NYC and had some incredible spots in mind for their NYC session.

We met up in a neighborhood called Dumbo, for some awesome graffiti art, which was really unique to include for their engagement session! We ended in Brooklyn Bridge Park with some amazing views of the city, Jane’s carousel, and PIZZA (of course!).

Annemarie + Shawn | Rivers Club Wedding

A chance meeting on the streets of Shadyside. Tracking down Shawn’s number from friends. They finally connected and someways down the relationship road, Shawn planned an elaborate December proposal.

Annemarie shared a little bit of their story…

“I am IMPOSSIBLE to surprise. In early December Shawn told me that my Christmas gift was going to be "lit" so I started getting suspicious and kept asking him about it and finally he said it was Hamilton Tickets. I was a big pout and said I thought it was a ring, and I was embarrassed, etc. On Christmas day, his whole family and my whole family were at my parents house for Christmas. Our immediate families went into the living room by the tree to open gifts (my mom had gotten gifts for his family, and vise versa). Shawn handed me a huge box wrapped in gold paper and said to act surprised for the Hamilton tickets because his mom didn't know I already knew what I was getting. The large box had five or six smaller boxes (like Russian Dolls) inside. By the time I got to the last box I think I was audibly annoyed! The last box was a red box with a little white twisty tie fashioned into a ring - I always told Shawn I didn't care about the ring, and I would marry him with a twisty tie. When I looked up, Shawn was getting down on one knee! “

The big day held a few surprises of it’s own but this time Annemarie was in on (most of) them. Guests witnessed Shawn play piano at the ceremony (he learned just for the wedding!) and a special choreographed first dance. The couple has a pet pig, Francis, and while he couldn’t attend there was an ode to him when a groomsman came out in a pig costume!

I truly could go on and on about this day, this couple, how amazing their bridal party was. It was one of those wedding days I will never forget. It hit me right in the heart. ALL. OF. THE. FEELS. Here is a peek at their day.

Stephanie + Phil | Quincy Cellars Winery Erie, PA

When your first date is at a winery, it’s only fitting that your wedding is at one too! Quincy Cellars in Erie, PA was a beautiful backdrop for their early fall wedding! Living out of state for work during their engagement, the wedding was not only uniting them in marriage but also under one roof! I was so thrilled to be working with them because Stephanie is just the sweetest soul and we became friends immediately. Their day was filled with happy tears, thoughtful DIY decor made with love by her mom, family and friends cheering them on. Amazing memories were made and I think these newly weds will live (finally in the same state) happily ever after.
